Man Faces Sentence of 20 Years for Cheating 12 Casinos in the USA and Canada

A 35 year old Phat Ngoc Tran, pleaded guilty to participating in cheating and in a racheteering enterprise in a scheme to cheat over 12 US and Canada casinos. Tran and his co-conspirators managed to get $2.5 million by card tricks.

They cheated at 12 casinos mostly in the US and Canada and won thanks to the false shuffle technique. This technique is bribing the dealer to make false shuffles in blackjack and mini-baccarat. Dealers were paid for making a predictable card sequence and by delaying the shuffles. Cheaters made big bets when they understood the sequence and won a lot.

Phat Ngoc Tran is facing 20 years in prison and the sentence was scheduled for June 1st, 2009.

The rest members of the Tran's organisation admitted to targeting around 24 casinos in the conspiracy.
