State-owned Casinos in Kansas

The Kansas Lottery Commission is going to approve the plan to open two state-owned casinos. It is expected that two casinos will be run in Wyandotte and Sumner counties.

According to the official data, the Commission has already three applications to run casino in Sumner County and another two applications to start the state-owned casino in Wyandotte County.

In fact, the Lottery Commission is not the only body that can influence the decision. The commissioners can accept the project but the final decision is up to the review board.

The state of Kansas back in 2007 saw the law allowing to run casinos in four counties. Last year Wyandotte and Sumner were granted the contracts for the casinos but didn't bring them to life because of the economic troubles. The only state-owned casino built in Kansas is expected to open this November in Dodge City.
